Thank you for being my mum

Thank you for the nine months that you carried me

When you fed and protected what you could not see

Thank you for enduring the birth of me

And for shaping the person that I could potentially be

Thank you for my school days and for nurturing me

Thank you for your patience and for loving me

Thank you for those plasters and those remedies

And when sick, with you was the best place to be

I honestly do respect you and have loved you all my life

I will continue to love you forever; thank you for enriching that life
