Ah, the lift door opens
Setting quite the welcoming scene
I step inside and savour
Not a person in sight, so serene
But as the door proceeds to encase me
Gently wrapping me in
I hear the footsteps of anxiousness
Eagerly attempting to step within
I pretend to rush to press the button
But the one which closes the door
I innocently wave my hand in the air
‘So sorry’ as I gaze at the floor.
