I missed my train

With breakneck speed

I ran down the stairs

To the sound of the engines roar

I expected to see the crowd disembark

But instead, I saw just a closed door

As I placed my feet on the ground

I watched as my train pulled away

I saw faces behind the window looking smug

I turned to my phone and pretended to say,

‘Hello’.
