I remember at every daybreak
Whether there are sunbeams relentlessly through my window
Or the rain precipitates softly on my pane
Awakened by the bellowing of a new day
I seek you at your side of the bed, our bed,
With the assurance that you will be
Exactly where I saw you last night
A perpetual routine, which I would assure anyone
That this would never change
And now, I wake, I turn to seek you at your side of the bed, our bed
But your space is empty
And I miss you every day, at daybreak and far beyond
And so now, all I seek are the memories of you
Every day and forever.
