Losing a grandmother

Updated: Mar 30, 2023

My dear Gran

I wish that you were here

I would love for you to see me

To wash away my grief

I know how much you loved us

And how much you wanted to stay

I can almost hear you say, don’t worry,

Make the most of every passing day

My dear precious Gran, I do miss you

I miss your contagious smile

I miss your tender hugs and kisses,

Your eagerness to go that extra mile

I wish that I could hold your hand

And tell you why you were a mother so grand

Sleep now, Gran and rest from the pain,

While I’ll dream of a dream where I can see you again
