You can’t fool me, as I’ll always know

Your compliments are all too shallow

Your lips, each word appears intact

But from your eyes, there’s no contact

Your smile protrudes through gritted teeth,

As if there’s anger underneath

Although your arms are open wide

Your feet do shift from side to side

You cross your arms when questions flow

There are some things only you should know

You seem so calm, but your voice a quiver

Your hands are shaking like a leaf in a river

You can’t fool me.
